Q: What is the SCRIBE Network?
A: The SCRIBE Network is a group of people who collect and distribute
information that is of help to any who are involved in the renaissance
education and entertainment industry.
Q: What type of information does the SCRIBE collect and distribute?
A: The SCRIBE collects contact and history information of those involved
with the renaissance entertainment industry, merchants, events, and
groups. The SCRIBE also maintains an immense file library that houses
topics from history to helping actors prepare themselves. Over 1200
files are available, all intended to help any person in their
activities at any 'renaissance' faire. And the SCRIBE Network has
even made a freeware program that is Windows based that you can use
on your computer without the need for a modem.
Q: I noticed the word Network being used. Do I have to have a computer?
A: No, the term network is used to indicate the network of people who help
make the SCRIBE work. If you have a computer, it does make the
transference of information easier, but it is not a requirement.
Q: How can I get information from the SCRIBE Network?
A: Just about anyway that you can imagine it.

Q: How much does this cost me?
A: The SCRIBE Network does not charge any fee or request a donation.
Donations of monies are always returned with a thank you. You are
requested that if you use the mail system to obtain information,
that you supply a SASE and if requesting information by disk, tape,
or cd-rom, that you provide suitable media.
Q: So how do you collect the contact information?
A: Contact information for faire folke and merchants is done by a
voluntary registraion. A form is filled out then inputted into the
database. Lists are generated from this database. Event based
information is entered via contact with the event's staff itself.
Efforts are made to contact and update all contact information at
least once a year.
Q: How reliable is the SCRIBE Networks contact information.
A: Every record is stamped with a date of its input or last update. By
reviewing this date it is possible to see how fresh the data is. The
SCRIBE Network makes every effort to keep the databases current but
are not responsible for wrong or incorrect information.
Q: I notice that you post faires into the Internet UseNet groups. How often
do you do this?
A: The policy is: On the half month, post as an individual message,
any event that that has a scheduled run date during the upcoming month.

for using the SCRIBE Network.

Imitation is a very sincere form of flattery. We encourage you to
investigate other sources as sometimes their listings contain a much
broader spectrum of events then the SCRIBE Network's. Many of these
